Bike Week Myrtle Beach General Information

The Spring Myrtle Beach Bike Week is the larger of the two Bike Weeks in South Carolina (the other being the Fall Myrtle Beach Rally which happens from September 29 to October 3 in 2010) and is on the Lightning Customs 2009 Major Biker Rallies List. The Spring Bike Week Myrtle Beach is one of the Lightning Customs' "Big 4 Rallies", the other three being Daytona Beach Bike Week, Sturgis, and Laconia Bike Week.

Not only was the attendance was down due to the slow economy and changes in the motorcycle industry, but the changes in the laws in the city of Myrtle Beach and Horry County were explicitly designed to force the rally to the surrounding areas. The local government actually tried to eliminate the rallies in Myrtle Beach completely. Some of the changes included significant vendor and other restrictions, a noise ordinance, year round helmet laws, and other non biker friendly laws. Despite all of this the Myrtle Beach rally went on but just in the surrounding areas.

Myrtle Beach Rally Attractions and Information

Because of the frequent and changes in the laws go to the Official Myrtle Beach Bike Week site to see what and where events and attractions will be as well as to find out any newly passed unfriendly laws to bikers. There are still attractions across the Grand Strand (now just not in Myrtle Beach) and surrounding cities. The historic Bike Week is still one of the premiere rallies so have fun, just not in the city of Myrtle Beach!
