The 2016 Rolling Thunder Ride will follow the traditional route starting in the Pentagon parking lots, through the streets in Washington, DC and ending at the Vietnam Memorial Wall. To clarify, there are a number of events called the "Ride to the Wall" AND "Ride for the Wall" that start before May 29th. These are rides to the DC area for the “Ride for Freedom” on the 29th, which is on the 2016 Lightning Customs' Major Bike Rallies List.
The Ride for Freedom is a very important one day motorcycle event. It is not a parade, but a demonstration. The purpose of the Ride is to raise awareness of the POW-MIA issue and to let the government know that all of our soldiers who have fought for our freedom must be accounted for.
The National Mall in DC has a number of the major US war memorials including the Vietnam Memorial Wall. Seeing The Wall in person with the names of the unaccounted soldiers who fought for country, yet who are still unaccounted for, is unforgettable.
