The 2015 Sturgis rally will be the 75th anniversary of the Mecca for motorcycle riders. The rally was originally known as the Black Hills Classic and started out in 1938 when the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club, founded by Clarence “Pappy” Hoel, held a race that drew nine participants. Sturgis is one of the three national rallies (the other two are Daytona Beach Bike Week and Laconia Motorcycle Week) and it is on the 2015 Lightning Customs' Major Biker Rallies List.
