2012 ROT Rally 2010 ROT Biker Rally Republic of Texas Rally/ROT RallyAustin, TexasJune 9 to 12, 2011General ROT Rally InfoRepublic of Texas Bike Rally AttractionsWe talk to a lot of people at the rally grounds and off the rally grounds and the consensus is that a large reason why so many people opt to not go to the official ROT grounds at the Expo Center is because it is not cheap and during this time of year you can expect the weather to be in the 90's. Frequently noted is that when you are on the blacktop at the rally it is extremely hot. Finally, when the heat is combined with the humidity it makes getting catching some wind while riding in the beautiful Hill Country and hanging out at the bars a lot more appealing. More on the Hill Country and the Austin area: this area has amazing riding through the lush, green rolling hills, Lake Travis, and Town Lake. Additionally the downtown Austin is one of the best places to party with 9 out of 10 doors being bars or pubs and during the ROT Rally downtown is barricaded off for motorcycle only parking. Downtown being blocked off allows the huge crowd to watch top notch bands, other attractions, and since Austin is also billed as the Live Music Capital of the World there will be bands playing wherever there is room. Because downtown Austin bars and pubs primarily filled with motorcycle enthusiasts and bikers the businesses cater to to the crowd provide a lot of beer specials. If you don't mind the above noted weather, the camping area is quite a wild party at night. On the official grounds there are top name bands, bike shows, some custom bike builders, big distributors, the Parade to downtown starts at the rally grounds, other contests and attractions, and a lot of vendors. The good news for attendees is that there are a lot of vendors, but the complaints that we have heard from vendors is that the increase in the number of vendors has not been matched by the same percentage of attendees. No matter if you go to the Expo Center or are anywhere in Austin, the women are hot like they are in most warm states. 2011 ROT Rally Fees and Other Information-BYOB if you go to the Expo Center, beer is really expensive costing above $5/beer.
