Jefferson Mack Motorcycle

In 1910, Perry E. Mack debuted his Jefferson motorcycle. It had one of the first vertical-overhead-valve engines.

Like many early-era motorcycles, the company initially intended to manufacture only engines under the Waverly name. The motorcycle motor became well-known and performed in races.

Then, in 1911, the company moved to Jefferson, Wisconsin. The marque was re-named the “P.E.M,” which honored Perry Mack.  

In 1913, the name changed again to the Jefferson, after the company’s location.  And due to heavy competition, the Jefferson Perry Mack motorcycle company went out of business.
