| | Description | The 1st Annual Ride to End Hunger is a motorcycle charity event to raise money for the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen located in New Haven, Connecticut (all proceeds go directly to the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen). The Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (D.E.S.K.) serves hot evening meals 5 days a week, provides bag lunches for the working poor, and runs a weekly food pantry. All D.E.S.K. services are free to those in need. Registration the day of the event Saturday, September 16, 2006 will begin at 9am at the parking lot of Sports Haven located off I-95 in New Haven. The ride will begin promptly at 11am and take a 55-mile route through rural and shoreline Connecticut. The ride will end at Sports Haven. Refreshments & vendors will be available at the end of the ride.
