General Rolling Thunder Information

One of the largest one motorcycle events in 2009 will be the Rolling Thunder XXI Ride for Freedom which is on the Lightning Customs 2009 Major Bike Rallies List. Although Rolling Thunder in DC is always on Memorial Day, you will find that there are a lot of starting points across the country for people to ride together to reach the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. The purpose of the Rolling Thunder Ride to the Wall is to raise awareness of the POW-MIA issue and to promote healing for vets.

A number of POW/MIA organizations push for legislation and action, educate the public, help search for missing vets, and lend support to veterans and their families. It does not matter if you ride or not, but it is important to show support those for those who fought for our freedom or who made the ultimate sacrifice so we can enjoy our freedom.

If you have never been to the wall; it is a surreal experience. This is especially true when you see veterans at the Wall and is something that every American needs to experience at least once in their lifetime.
