Four Corners Rally in the Rockies UPDATEDurango, ColoradoRally in the Rockies Update 01/14/2007There were some huge losses for the biker and motorcycle enthusiast communities in 2006 including the last minute cancellation in Durango of the Rally in the Rockies. We did not find out about the cancellation of the Four Corners motorcycle rally until we showed up at our hotel. This was the second time in five years that the rally was canceled, so to find out the latest of why the Rally in the Rockies was canceled and what potential there is in the future, please check out the Rally in the Rockies site. The Lightning Customs staff, as well as the attendees, had a great time at the Rally in the Rockies and are saddened by the problems surrounding the event. 2 Alternative Events Update 01/14/2007 After speaking with alternative coordinators, there will be a very small event with a similar name, Four Corners Motorcycle Rally, from August 27 to September 3, 2007 in the Four Corners area. There will not be an official rally site and the only "events" will be coordinated by smaller local groups. Since there will be no official rally site and subsequently no entrance fees, there will not be any money generated to pay for any major attractions, events, bands, etc. For more information you can go to http://fourcornersmotorcyclerally.com. In Ignacio there will be the smaller Ignacio Bike Week. Although there will be vendors, there will not be any major attractions, events, bands, etc. for the same reasons as above.
