Basic Galveston Motorcycle Rally Information

As you are well aware, the city of Galveston was hit hard by Hurricane Ike about 8 weeks before it was supposed to start. Eventually the promoters of the Galveston bike rally moved the event dates to mid December. Although in previous years the Galveston rally attracted an estimated 400,000 plus enthusiasts, the 2008 rally had around 100k. Considering the time of the year and the winter weather this was a good turn out.

The Lone Star Galveston rally is normally the largest of the Texas motorcycle rallies and is on the Lightning Customs 2009 Major Biker Rallies List.

Lone Star Motorcycle Rally Attractions

The temperature at the end of October in Texas is normally good riding weather. Some of the attractions are riding along the coast, cruising through the middle of the rally on Strand Street, and riding over the Causeway to Galveston Island. Galveston also has a lot of out door pubs and bars so you can enjoy some food and beer while watching the bikes ride by.

The Lone Star rally has vendors on two different sides of the Galveston; Strand Street and Seawall Street. Since the Galveston bike rally is the largest in Texas you will find there is plenty to do and to see.
