General 2011 Lone Star Motorcycle Rally Information

The Lone Star Rally, frequently referred to as the Galveston bike rally, is held on Galveston Island which is just south of Houston. The weather in Texas this time of year varies, although it is November it can be sunny and close to 90 degrees or rainy and down to 50 degrees.

One cool thing about the Galveston motorcycle rally is that it is free (except in the past to see the concerts) and with hundreds of thousands of attendees, the Lone Star is by far the largest of the Texas bike rallies. It is notable that the businesses, hotels, and bars appreciate the motorcycle enthusiasts and bikers. The Lone Star Galveston rally is on the 2011 Lightning Customs Major Bike Rallies List.

Lone Star Galveston Bike Rally Attractions

The riding around the Lone Star motorcycle rally is one of the attractions. Going over the Causeway that gets you over the water to Galveston Island lets you see the water, riding along the beach once on the island, and riding on Strand Street through the middle of the rally are all part of the Galveston TX motorcycle experience.

Galveston is an attractive tourist city and because it is also a beach city you will find that many of the bars and places to eat have outdoor areas where you can view the Lone Star Rally's action. As far as lodging at the, you can either stay at one of the hotels or camp out.

In 2010 there were top name bike builders, notable people in the industry, the Rats Hole Custom Bike Show, Easyriders Bike Tour bikes, regional bands playing at 3 venues (Saengerfest Park Pier 21, and Limpnickie 's on he Strand), Military Tribute bikes, Military History Sites of Galveston Ride, women's ride-in bike show, Outlaw Daves Ranch Ride, and Harleys Angelz Cruise to Cure Ride and ride-in bike show.

Additionally there was a burnout ramp, silent auction, raffles, 50/50, motorcycle manufacturers displays, Post 911 Foundation Follow the Flag Ride for with the raising of the Ground Zero Flag with the Navys Full Steam Brass Band playing, keynote speakers, best decorated bike and rider contest, chance to win a free Harley, other biker contests, Coast Guard search and rescue mission demonstration with a helicopter doing a basket rescue, riding down the Strand, and vendors.
