|Description||The Ride to Remember is an annual ride dedicated in the memory of our country's POW/MIA military personnel and focused on the 55 Montana personnel specifically. The ride is held the 3rd Saturday in August every year and goes from Helena, Montana to West Yellowstone, Montana down Highway 287. This highway was dedicated as the POW/MIA Memorial Highway by Montana's governor, Steve Bullock on May 23rd, 2014.
This ride of approximately 183 miles will begin and end with POW/MIA commemoration ceremonies. The starting ceremony will be held in Helena's Memorial Park, beginning promptly at 0930hrs (9:30am). Once the ceremony has concluded, the ride will begin and will have two planned stops. The first will be a rallying point at the I-90 Town Pump near Three Forks, MT. Riders can gas up at either Wheat Montana or the Town Pump. The second rallying point will be the grade school in Ennis, MT. This will allow riders to fill up at Rocky Mountain Supply just North of Ennis or the Town Pump just past the "T" intersection. This will allow riders to stop for fuel, to stretch their legs and rest, and also provide an opportunity for others to join the ride if they desire.
There will be a police escort for the entire length of the ride. It will not be necessary to stop for traffic lights or signs as we proceed through the various communities.
