|Description||SCMA, with support from IBA, is conducting its second annual Winter Solstice Saddle Sore 1000 Challenge on Saturday, December 21. If you are an Iron Butt Novice, here is your chance to rack up your longest ride on the shortest day of the year. If you are an Iron Butt Veteran, we have an enticement to offer you.
Check in time is 4:00 to 5:00 am and we will ride from Costa Mesa to Chico and back again, traveling 1055 miles in approximately 18 hours or less, including gas stops and a sit down lunch along the way. Steve will sign you in and sign you out. The ride will fulfill the IBA requirements for the Saddle Sore 1000 and provide you entry into the august body of long distance riders: The Iron Butt Association.
For veteran IBAers, the ride will provide a unique certificate that Mike Kneebone and his crew are designing special for this version of the SS1000. If you have a bunch of certificates hanging on the wall and want one that is set apart from all of the others, this event will give it to you.
