|Description||Tet is the biggest and the most sacred festival. It is the most attractive to a majority of the Vietnamese.
Tet falls on a time when the old year is over and the New Year comes by lunar calendar. This is also the time when the cycle of the universe finishes: winter ends and spring - the season of birth of all living things, comes.
Tet is an occasion for pilgrims and family reunions. It is a time when one pays respect to his/her ancestors and grandparents who have brought up him/her. It is an occasion when everyone sends each other best wishes for a new year, stops thinking about unhappy things and says good things about each other.
This is the special offer from Voyage Vietnam to our clients. We organize this tour to discover the special way the Tet holiday is celebrated in the countryside. You will stay with local families for a completely integrated and unique experience. During Tet, all offices, agencies and organizations are closed in Vietnam but we here at Voyage Vietnam will ensure all our services are met while on tour.
Day 1. Sun, 26th Jan 2014 (26/12/2013 Lunar year): Hanoi – Tan Trao, 170 km ~ 5h
Along the way today, there is an opportunity to admire the splendid scenery of the Pho Day River containing crystal clear water with beautiful images of country girls in small basket boats, as we ride past.
Tan Trao is a historical area where the provisional revolutionary government and the General Committee of the Viet Minh leaded by the President Ho Chi Minh and establish the base security resistance army zone during the French colonialists in Indochina and from here they came to Hanoi to make the August Revolution 1945 and it became the Capital during Nine-Year Resistance War (from 1945 to 1954). Until the Genève convention sighed after the Dien Bien Phu Battle field the Viet Minh Government returned to Hanoi in Oct 1950.

Fun back-road throughout countryside in the morning. Some parts of the road is steep and there are a few stream-crossings.

Day 4. Wed, 29th Jan, 2014 (29/12/2013): Meo Vac - Dong Van, 90 km ~ 3h

Visiting these remote areas, we will see how hard the local people struggle with their environment for their survival and development. Because the living conditions are extremely hard, there is barely any arable land within the rocky mountains; the people who live there survive on a diet of corn, which is about the only crop able to grow in the poor rocky soil. The local people are simple and friendly, yet develop strong attachments to other people. They are the soul of this remote area.
