|Description||On Saturday, October 19, 2013 the American Diabetes Association will be celebrating the 9th Annual Rip’s B.A.D. Ride Arizona—Bikers Against Diabetes—a motorcycle fundraising ride and family festival that unites the Biker Nation in the fight against diabetes.
Festival site is the Tucson Harley-Davidson: 7355 N I10 Eb Frontage Rd
The B.A.D. Ride is a FULL day of GREAT riding, BIG entertainment, DELICIOUS food, LOTS of activities and a GOOD vibe! This year the festival site will be at Tucson Harley Davidson. We are excited to be working with the Tucson HOG Chapter to make this event a great success.
The B.A.D Ride was started in Southern California by Rip Rose, a biker and photojournalist for Easyriders, who wanted to bring the biker nation together in the fight against diabetes. Today, that dream is a reality—every year thousands of bikers join the movement to Stop Diabetes® by participating in this fun event.
The issue of diabetes is becoming a health crisis both nationally and in Arizona. Diabetes has no cure and is nearly twice as likely to affect Native American, Hispanic and senior populations. This is having a devastating effect on the health of Arizonans and on the Arizona economy.
The American Diabetes Association is the nation’s leading voluntary health organization supporting diabetes research, information and advocacy. The Association’s advocacy efforts include helping to combat discrimination against people with diabetes; advocating for the increase of federal diabetes research and programs; and improved access to, and quality of, healthcare for people with diabetes.
