Riding Into History, one of Americas premier vintage motorcycle events, will return to the beautiful World Golf Village
Mitch Boehm, Editor and Publisher of Moto Retro Illustrated, and former Motorcyclist Magazine Editor, will serve as Grand Marshal. Larry Meeker will once again serve as Chairman the event. The weekend will feature the Concours dElegance on Saturday, with a charity ride to the event leaving from BMW Motorcycles of Jacksonville. The Grand Marshals Historic Lunch Ride to St. Augustine, led by Boehm, and the Grand Marshals Dinner at the Legends Grill in the WGV, featuring a talk by Boehm, will be held on Friday.
All of the proceeds from Riding Into History will benefit the Jacksonville-based
Wounded Warrior Project. To date, Riding Into History has raised over $250,000 for charity.
The event is presented by Riding Into History Inc., a 501(c)3 not for profit organization comprised entirely of volunteer members from several motorcycle organizations, led by the BMW Motorcycle Owners of Northeast Florida (BMWNEF). The Historic Motorcycle Society (HMS), Chrome Divas, Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA), Outriders and the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA) all lend support to the event.
Between 300 and 400 antique, vintage and classic motorcycles from all over the country are expected to enter the Concours, which this year honors the Landmark Motorcycles of Japan.
Thousands of spectators are once again expected to enjoy the event, which also
includes exhibitors, entertainment, clubs and a variety of food. Admission is still only $10 at the gate for the Concours.
Internationally known motorcycle artist Don Bradley will once again provide the original artwork for the posters, which have become collectors items. Posters, t-shirts and other items will be available at RidingIntoHistory.org and at the event.
The media sponsor is Moto Retro magazine. Other sponsors include Sargent Cycle Products, Yamaha USA, BMW Motorcycles of Jacksonville, Battery Tender, BMWNEF, VyStar Credit Union, The Schwantz School, Mercedes-Benz, BMW Outriders and C Hill Concepts Web Design.
The World Golf Village is located just north of St. Augustine on I-95, exit 323.
