|Description||What: Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts will gather for the Fourth Annual Green Ribbon Motorcycle Ride & Rally to exhibit their bikes and enjoy live music, food, contests and entertainment. The event will feature a celebrity appearance by ‘Modern Men’ and ‘Cheers’ star George Wendt, a poker run through Chicago’s western suburbs, a raffle for a 2006 FXDL Low Rider 1450cc Harley Davidson motorcycle, and a custom bike show. Organized by the University of Illinois Medical Center’s Gastrointestinal and Liver Disease (GILD) Council, proceeds from the rally support research and treatment of hepatitis, colon cancer, organ transplantation, diabetes and obesity at the Medical Center’s Digestive and Liver Disease Center.

Established in 1997, the GILD Council’s mission is to support the ongoing research and clinical needs of the UIC’s Digestive Disease and Liver Center. The center is dedicated to improving diagnosis, treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal and liver diseases by providing advanced patient care, exemplary research and high-quality education.
