|Description||The Sgt. Mac Memorial Foundation was formed after the death of our son, Marine Sgt. Eric McColley. Eric was killed along with seven fellow Marines and two Airmen when two Marine CH-53 e Super Stallion helicopters collided off the coast of Djibouti, Africa on February 17, 2006. In addition to supporting numerous active duty military and veteran causes the foundation created the National Wreath Project on Christmas Day 2006 by placing 515 wreaths in Quantico National Cemetery. This year our goal is to place 5000 wreaths in Quantico, Gettysburg Soldiers National Cemetery and the National Cemetery at New Bern North Carolina.|
This year marks the 5th Annual Wreath Placement and the 3rd Annual Wreath Ride, A Ride to the Moving Wall. All proceeds from the ride go to the National Wreath Project and will be used to purchase the wreaths to be placed in our National Cemeteries. We are presenting something special this year in cooperation with Legion Post 288 and the County of Currituck. The Vietnam Moving Wall is scheduled to be on display at Sound Park in Currituck County in October from the 14th to 18th. Registration will take place from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM with a police escorted ride at 11:00 AM.
The Sgt. Mac Foundation is a 100% volunteer 501 ( c ) (3) non profit organization, please visit our web site www.sgtmac.org.
