|Description||Our annual motorcycle trek takes bikers from Indianapolis through Brown County, the Hoosier National Forest, and back to Greenwood.
The ride benefits the James Jensen Memorial Scholarship Program, established by Mr. Jensen's son, Larry. The scholarship program provides education for seminary students at the Theological Seminary in Quito, Ecuador. The elder Mr. Jensen and his wife, Frances, served as lay missionaries in Quito for several years following his retirement from the military (US Army).
Free coffee, juice and donuts at registration.
Registration for the 9th annual run begins at 9 a.m. on September 20, 2008 at First Church of the Nazarene, 9401 East 25th Street, Indianapolis. The ride is scheduled to begin around 10 a.m. and end at approximately 5 p.m. The finish line is Greenwood's Harvest Point Church, which will provide a free dinner to all riders at the conclusion of the event.
Free dinner at end of ride.
For 2008, ride organizer Larry Jensen has set an ambitious though attainable goal: 100 riders.
There is not a set registration fee; however, a minimum donation of $30 per rider is suggested. Additional contributions to the scholarship program are appreciated, and riders are encouraged to enlist sponsors to obtain those contributions.
A minimum of one scholarship is awarded anually to a student at the Quito seminary. Jensen hopes to be able to increase the number of students who receive financial assistance each year
