General Red River Run Information
The Red River Run, what some people call New Mexico Bike Week, is located in the mountain resort town of Red River New Mexico and is on the 2010 Lightning Customs' Major Bike Rallies List. Since Red River is in the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range you will need to bring rain and cold weather gear to the Red River rally. If you aren't from an area close to a mountain range you need to know that temperatures fluctuate during the day, in the evening it cools down, and mountain areas are known for quick changes in the weather so you might get some rain.
Red River Rally Attractions
The Red River area offers a lot of scenic mountain rides because it is surrounded by over 1 million acres of National Forests. One popular ride, that is a scheduled event or that you can take on your own, is the 80 some mile Enchanted Circle ride which takes you through the towns of Eagles Nest, Angel Fire, and Taos. Other events include a parade to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park in Angel Fire, biker contests and other events at the local bars, raffle, vendors, and more to be announced.
